Gay Marriage: is a problem or messenger of new era?

     Nowadays we encounter different type of relationship between couples which is called gay or lesbian  (homosexual) relations with the new era. Although the reason's answer why this kind of marriage is too popular in this time depends on that people commence to chance their preference about his pairs or the new trends drifts this manner to the homosexual marriage is not as important as the result of that issue even whether we can call issue or not.
     This week we looked this homosexual relationships from two or three different aspects such as sharing or taking children etc. and investigated the definition and purpose of marriage and whether it changed with this trend or not. Actually we can not called this flaw as a new trend because we know that this kind of lesbian or gay relationship could have been encountered in the ancient time in Roma or Greece. From this aspect it can not know easily that maybe this kind of relationships is sourced from liberalism and free thinking process.
     However; whether the resources of homosexual relationship depended on this kind of reasons or not, the return of these relationships is generating lots of problem nowadays, especially for marriage realm. Because of demand of getting married, as usual people gays or lesbians also want to get married according to normal laws determined by government for looking normal in the society and obtaining some right as same as heterosexual couples get. Nonetheless the governments have not such will for legislating this marriages because of some problems that they create. For example taking care of children ( even it is possible with the abortion by gay couples) the problem that kids who is grown by homosexual pairs will encountered in the future have been standing in front of this allowance for gay marriages. However; i strongly believe that with the solving this kind of problem, gay marriage occasionally is going to be free in the future because of a lot of demand and increasing at the number of homosexual peoples but at first, the society have to accept and give permission that they can enter the society without any prejudice.

Take A Look In The Institution of Marriage From Ethical Aspect

From beginning of life to modern era, the relationship between two sex is conserving the most significant area of morality for society. Because the fundamental basis of society from moral aspect is formed by those relations. If the example is wanted to be given from the first time, the connection between Adam and Eve, the first humans according to religious beliefs.

In that time which the relationship is important for society in marriage institution emerged thousands years ago from those relations and therefore marriage can be defined as " the institution formed by human being in order to be shaped and discriminated the love relationships from normal relationships. The purpose is hided in the previous sentence, and it means that the marriage institution gives the specialization to the relations between males and females therefore this institution makes the love relations worthy and well-regarded. 

However; in today society, the goal of marriage mentioned upside unfortunately is misguided from this well-regarded target and people have begun to consume this institution such as bread or water. For example the rate of divorces has increased for 20. and especially 21. cent. Therefore the regard and value of marriage being earned from many years are being commenced to decrease day by day. 

To sum up; although the concept of marriage is related to the regarded and aimed institution for determining the fundamental basis of society, it is made to misguided by the members of society. And because of the sovereign goal of it that i mentioned above, this perversion is damaging the society from first layer. 

Last Week of the Course and presentations :((((

Last week the presentations about the gender roles in movies covered all time and like everybody we have done it too. Therefore a lot of uncleared or hiding point have come to surface. The presentation of Fried Green Tomatoes made clear a lot of points of the movies, even i had not watched the movie. However, as you expected, after that presentation immediately i watched it and enjoyed it. The most of gender roles are emphasized in the movie especially in the women roles in the society as we are learnt in course.
If it is necessity to mention about our presentations, firstly i want to say that it is difficult to find the role model of genders from the movie because of the structure of Forrest Gump. However some clear ideas also is in the movie. Hence we tried to emphasized them and mentioned four main characters in the movie from the gender aspect.

The Beauty or as Can says for it: Beautifulity :)))

Beauty has become the most important concept strongly emphasized on television for women in such kind of environment that media or specifically televisions commence a part of our life. We are looking the same subject from the beginning of English 101 Course and the last subject with "The more you subtract, the more you add   include maybe the most important concept for women: The effect of media in the perception of women about "beauty concept". Yes, it is the most important part because it effects and orients the women's behavior among the world. For example; when they see anything on the television for making themselves "beautiful", they quickly are alerted by Tv and as possible as they have it. This process can be called as craziness of consumption. Therefore the attractiveness of media appeals women's interests. However for the worst side of this process, the   consumption could not be controlled by the ones who give the money, it is controlled by the media and this means the producers make selling whatever they want and make money with this effects of media.

Take a look in The More You Subtract, the More You Add

As the similar of last week, the effect of media on gender roles were dealt with in this week. It is important to mention that the headline tells about all of things in the text. Because everything for determination of gender roles is in the media such as televisions, radios, internet... They have great influence especially on females because the fashion is in their interesting areas (however we can see the development in the interest of males in the following fashion). Always same things are emphasized on them: You should look great in some ways which media determines. For instance; keeping their weight in the same kg is done for looking good not for health aspect. Therefore the more you subtract from your body, the more you add to your reputation in media's way.

Gender Stratification Determined by Media

Think about male and female's roles in the community and then compare these results with image in media. As a result of the comparison, it is clearly found that there is a similarity between media and gender roles. For example; in most of members' of heads there is a thought that women are weaker than men in any professions needed capability about using power or mental wisdom and the same beliefs are the subject of a lot of advertisements, movies or television series. According to Rushdie (2010), the media organs are the mirror of community's perception. From this aspect, it could be said that there are the determined roles for men and women characters in the community by the society's individuals. For instance; touching is adopted to women and if we see that a man touches his body, this situation seems to us so effeminate. Hence; we as a man can not touch our bodies in front of any group because of this stupid borders between two main characters. İf the second example is wanted to give from women's aspect, women can not seem muscularly like a man thanks to societies gender beliefs. To sum up; media and gender roles strongly are connected to each other by perception of society.

A week: all about movies

We spent the last week with four amazing movies' presentations by our friends. I mentioned amazing movies because when we watch these movies, probably it is difficult to realize the messages tried to give to audience indirectly. After these progress, it can clearly be said that with a different aspect, these movies hides lots of messages and important point is that they are automatically in our minds in a way but we can not realize these because of wrong perspective. Therefore these presentations were helpful for existing these messages on the surface. I can give some examples from my presentation, in Fight Club, i could not understand communism and capitalism comparison at first watching but while i were going deeply to the movie, the comparison become clear and we tried to explain this material in our presentation. The other important point from fight club is dilemmas between edward and brad's perspectives. It is important to think that these two completely different ideas are in the mind of tylor durden, however these come on surface by two different behavior. This dilemma is clearly captured with analyzing Marla's thought. 

To sum, we learnt that looking movies without any critical thinking process is not helpful and like a blind's perfective thought the world. Therefore critical thinking must be the most important point for the process which includes watching something.
